The materials and techniques
that we use in
construction
have long term impacts
that are often
neglected in our
planning activities.
When we talk about Sustainable
Construction we talk about: design for minimum waste, construction with
minimum waste,
design and construct for minimum energy use, no pollution,
respect the environment and
conserve water resources. Most of
these make perfect economic sense, but are not always embraced
in
the "old"
way of building.
The materials that we use for construction
have a huge impact on Sustainable Development. For
example, by
using materials that are durable, made locally,
made with natural products, made from recyclable products,
do not emit chemicals, etc. we can go
a long way sustainably.
Our designs incorporate
as many of the above points as possible. The result is a construction
project, which is healthy for its occupants and the environment.
